Singapore Laksa paste

Laksa is a very popular dish throughout most of south-east Asia. There are hundreds of varieties depending on local taste (or more likely due to availability of ingredients).

In general though, a Laksa is a soupy curry dish served with noodles. Most contain seafood of any form and occasionally some have chicken in them. In Singapore, the most common Laksa is served with thick noodles and large prawns. Containing lots of ground fish and lime juice along with lemongrass and ginger, the flavours are very strong and very tasty.

This jar of paste is enough for 6-8 portions depending on how much you like to put in your curry.

To make the curry you will also need a tin of coconut milk, a little stock and some meat / vegetables of your choice. We would recommend using chicken or seafood for this particular dish. There are easy to follow basic instructions on the side of the jar and following these will give a medium strength sauce.
