Save a monkey
Here at Spicymonkey Towers there is a bit of an obsession with our closest relatives...
To do our bit to help our furry friends, Spicymonkey will be making a donation of 50p from every jar sold of our Monkey Curry, to Inti Wara Yassi, which is an animal (mostly monkey) sanctuary in the Bolivian Amazon rainforest.
The sanctuary is run by local and international volunteers who along with the animals, rely entirely on donations to keep the community alive. They work tirelessly to help animals recovered from captivity (pets, circus animals, etc.) and to provide them with a quality of life they never could have imagined (many of them were stolen as babies, from their parents who would have been killed).
Since October 2007 we have so far raised £151 for Inti Wara Yassi. In July 2009 we visited the sanctuary to make this donation. We also had the pleasure of helping out with the care of the monkeys (and other animals) in the park for a couple of weeks. It was clear how much of an amazing impact the park had on the lives of the monkeys. The monkeys also had an amazing impact on us. It was an incredible feeling to be part of a project which eventually sees monkeys like Oscar and Coatis like Adriana released back into the wild. We will continue to make donations to Inti Wara Yassi with money raised from sales of Monkey Curry.
