Ras-el-hanout

Ras-el-Hanout is a wonderful and unique Moroccan spice mix.

The name translates to something like 'Top of the house' or 'Best in shop'.

All spice merchants in Morocco have their own closely guarded secret recipe, a collection of their best and often most expensive spices, mixed together.

Some recipes will contain 10 ingredients, others can have up to 100!

Spicymonkey Ras-el-hanout contains about 30 different spices and dried flowers. These ingredients give a very complex and fragrant smell and taste. The spice mix is used in cous-cous, rice, soup dishes, pastillas, tagines and even some desserts.

Spicymonkeys recipe for Ras-el-Hanout is our own, we have tried to replicate the kinds of spice mixes we have found in Morocco and believe this mix matches up very well indeed.

This jar of spice mix is enough for approximately 12 portions depending on how much you like to put in.
