Oh no...

Why did we do it?

It had been just an idea for so long. There was a chance we'd never get it perfectly right. Amazingly, brilliantly, so luckily, after several attempts and months in waiting, we finally discovered the secret to making the perfect lime pickle.

The monkeys tried allsorts of concoctions using all sort of spices and strange ingredients like carrots or elderberries or car-door rust!? In the end, completely by surprise, in a small bowl in a small cupboard, near a radiator that Mikey Monkey had been working on, there it was... the secret ingredient... the key to the perfect lime pickle in Spicymonkeys eyes...

Mikey Monkey had created "Picklegoo". The Picklegoo in the bottom of Mikey Monkey's bowl was so delicious, so tart, just hot and spicy enough, that it could make any lime turn into a small edible nugget of monkey-heaven. Mikey was instantly given extra banana rations, we just hope he can remember how to make the stuff!

Since Mikey Monkey's Picklegoo takes a while to pickle the limes, we are struggling to make enough lime pickle quickly enough to keep everybody satisfied. It's also remarkable just how much of the stuff gets 'lost' during production.

Due to the long pickling time and the space required to make the stuff, Spicymonkey Lime Pickle will only be available for purchase directly from the market stall, as and when we have some. As Mikey develops his Picklegoo making methods, we are hoping to increase our batch sizes in future.
