Mussaman (or Muslim) curry is a Thai curry with Islamic origin. A very popular choice in the west due to its mildness. The ingredients have a slightly Portuguese influence and it is similar in concept to the Goan Vindaloo (without the heat). Normally prepared with beef or lamb, the dish traditionally always contains potato. Spicymonkey Thai Mussaman Curry paste is homemade and is milder than the green and red curries. It is a good introduction to Thai cuisine for uninitiated palates. It is very simple to make a Thai curry. All you need to do is fry some paste in a little oil, add some coconut milk, throw in any meat / fish / vegetables you like and simmer until cooked. Thai curries are best served with plain rice but noodles can be good too.
Pricing£4 per jar (approx 150g - 8 servings)
